Last weekend Stacie, Ryan, Krispy and I headed to WI. Stacie and I were going to Women of Faith with my mom. There was 19 of girls that went together. It was a blast. I loved the whole weekend. Ryan stayed home with the boys and worked on the house. They seemed to have a good weekend too. It was a nice break from work. Here are some pictures of the weekend.

Carissa, Keith, and I were going to go camping in Iowa but decide to change our plans because it was going to snow which it did three inches. I drove to see them in Appleton WI instead. On Sabbath we drove to door country to walk around Peninsula State Park. It was a very cold windy day but the sun was out at least. I had a blast hanging out with them. I got to see their new place. It was a fast trip but worth every minute.

There are days that seem like they will never end but lately for me life has been speeding by. Ever since I graduated in May I have been driving and flying around the states. In May I went to Wisconsin to my cousins graduation. Then I was off to see Shelli in Atlanta for a long weekend in June. Back to Wisconsin I went for a friends wedding. July I got to visit Yellow Stone Park and 4-wheel in the Mt. of Wyoming. It seems like every weekend I am somewhere. In August I didn't that I need to work a lot to earn some money for all these trips that I had been talking. So I started working 60 to 70 hours weeks. I still can't believe that I worked that much. I also got a new job that I have been doing for the last 3 months but now I'm full time. With this new job I have been working long hours that hasn't really changed but now on top of the long hours I have training that I need to get done. The first of September I headed back to Wisconsin to see family over Labor day. I haven't been home since March. I had been to Wisconsin but different places then home. So it was really nice to get to see friends and family. While I was home I got a kitten from my family farm. I named him Krispy because he was burned but is doing so much better. For the past two weeks I have been working and enjoying be home. I look at October and see that I will be gone two of the weekends so my life will keep on being busy but that's what makes it fun. I haven't been blogging lately and I'm going to try and be better at that. Enjoy my blog!

On June 18 I headed to see Shelli in Atlanta. Shelli bought my plane ticket for my graduation gift. I had a blast. We went shopping, made good food, went to a French speaking church, got facials, and went to the Coco-cola museum. Shopping with Shelli is always so much fun. We both have the same taste and know what each other likes so it works out great. On sabbath we wanted to go to church but didn't know which one so we just picked well we ended up at a French speaking church. We didn't know this before we went in and they wouldn't let us leave. It was also all black which would of been ok but we didn't know what was going on at all. On Sunday we went to the Coco-cola museum which was really fun. We got to see a 4-d show and got to drink Coco-cola from all over the world. It was so much fun seeing Shelli I just wish that we lived closer together.

I know that I am three weeks late on blogging about my car accident but here are a couple pictures of my car. On June 25th Ryan and I went to get my AC fixed in my car and on the way home this guy didn't stop at the red light and hit us. I was so glad that Ryan was with me other wise I'm not sure how I would of gotten through it. I'm really thankful that Ryan or myself weren't hurt bad. I can say that our angels were watching over us. This whole thing has been a really big headache but it is starting to get back to normal. My car ended up being totaled and I had one week to get a new car and I think that was the worst part of all this. I wasn't planning on getting a new car for at least another year with just finishing school and everything but things happen. I ended up buying my mom's car and they ended up getting a new one. I really miss my sliver car because it was my first car and I had it for 7 years. Now I have a Hot Red car and I do love it but it's taking me sometime to get use to it.

Beginning of May Jeaneen and I wanted to go camping so we got some friends together and headed to Blue Steam camp ground which is about 20 min. outside of Lincoln. It ended up being a very beautiful weekend to go. Friday night got to be a little cold but other then that a it was great. I did a lot of cooking and the guys eat lots of food. On sabbath Jeaneen had a get idea to take our air mattress out on the water. This was so much fun. Bryan and Kevin were on one mattress and Jeaneen and I on the other we had races which of coures Jeaneen and I won :) before we left Bryan, Kevin, Jeaneen and I all played a game of tennis/baseball some game we kind of made up.

Ethan Laursen graduated from Wisconsin Academy on May 24, 2009. We are so proud of him and know that he will do great things. It was a very beautiful weekend and was very nice getting to see family and friends. Ryan, Staice and I drove from Lincoln, NE to be there on Ethan's special day.

In three weeks I will be a teacher! I will be Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Union College on May 10, 2009. Next school year I plan on being a substitute in Lincoln and after one year of doing that I will see where God leads me. Just wanted to write a short note and let everyone that reads my blogs now what is new with my life. I know that I don't blog that much but I just have been really busy with student teaching. I love my 5th grade class will miss then so much when I am done.

Last day of Classes!!!

Today is my last day that I have to sit through classes. I start student teaching this coming Monday and I can't wait to teach my 5th graders. For the past few weeks I have been so busy with a 10 page paper and my senior portfolio. This also is the last week I will be able to work crazy hours at my job. I don't like working when I am student teaching because I have to do so many lesson plans and I am working 40 + hours in the classroom. I still will work some weekends because I need the money but not that much. I can't believe that I only have 9 weeks of college left. I can't wait to be done with school so that I can be teaching my own students. My plans for next year are still up in the air but I hope to be working at Cedars and teaching. This is what is going on in my life. Sorry I don't blog that often but it has been really crazy. I love you all and miss you too.

Busy Busy Busy

I haven't had the time to blog in awhile. The holidays were busy for me and I just haven't taken the time to blog. Then school started up again and I have been working almost full time so it hasn't given me much time to sit down and blog. If you read my blogs and haven't seen anything in awhile sorry but I will work on posting some pictures soon and let you know what is all new in my life. Until then I hope all is well with you.

Christmas Fun with Students!

I sure can tell that the kids are getting excited about Christmas because they have been driving me crazy! I love Christmas a well so I understand how hard it is to focus on school at this time of the year. Even though Christmas is around the corner we still have things to get done like learn Math, English, Social Studies and the list goes on. I must say that I love teaching but it is very hard to teach when all I want is for the week to end so that I myself can be on Christmas break. With this being said last week we a very high energy week. All the kids could think about is their Christmas party/ slumber party. Every year George Stone School has this party. It starts out at the roller skating rink and then we head back to the school to play games and eat food that is so unhealthy for you. They also get to go to the gym and play games there as well. These games go on all night long. Let me tell you I got to leave at 12a.m. which I was so happy about. The good thing about this night of fun filled activities is that there is no school the next day so I got to sleep in. I enjoyed hanging out with all of my kids it was fun to do something other then school with them. One of my favorite part of the night was roller skating but I learned that I should of never said Raine (one of my students in 2nd grade) lets race! I learned very fast that I'm not as young as I thought or as fast as I once was. I was winning for a little while but them I had to trun the corner which didn't really happen. I went down hard and Raine went flying by. Lets just say he was so happy that he won and he also had a good laugh at me. I was a little sore the next day and I wont to doing that again. The party was so much fun and I got to take a lot of good pictures of all the different activities that we did. So enjoy the pictures!!!!!!

Christmas Program with my Students!!!!!

On December 6 George Stone the school where I have been student teaching for the past 8 weeks had their Christmas program. I was a little worried about how they would do because I had been going to the practices and they weren't doing so good, but with lots of prays they all did a great job. I was so proud of all the kids.
I can't believe how fast these weeks have been flying by. I have been keeping so busy with teaching and lesson plans I haven't had much time to go shopping for Christmas. I wont be doing home tell the 23 so I have some time yet. I'm not ready to say good bye to my students yet. This next week is going to be hard because the kids are so excited about Christmas that they can't sit still at all. So I am looking forward to my break just as much as they are ready to have a break from school. But not teaching everyday is going to be hard. I will have to go back to sitting in a class and learn how to be the student again. I must say that I will never forget my year being a student teaching. I have grown and learned so much. I know that I still have lots to learn. I must say that being a teacher is a very hard job. Somedays I just want to give up but then my students get it and understand and that gives me hope. I can honestly say that I will love being a teacher. Here are some pictures of my student at their Christmas program.

I went to my first football game this weekend! Jeaneen, Kevin, Bryan and I spent four hours in the freezing cold weather to watch the Cornhuskers. It was a new experience for me I love football even more now. It was a very close games which made it even better.

Field Trip With My Students

On Monday I went on a field trip to Vala's Pumpkin Patch with my 17 student. It was the coldest day of the week. I froze but it was so much fun watching the pig races and riding the train. We went on a hayride and each student got to pick a pumpkin to take home with them. Their favorite part was riding bikes around. It took us an hour to get there and the ride there I got to listen to stories about all kinds of things. It was just great to get to bond with the kids. It was a long day but so much fun.

This pasted Saturday night Jeaneen, Shawna, and I had a Halloween party. We invited a bunch of our friends to play games, carve pumpkins, and decorate cookies. It was so much fun. I haven't laughed that much in a long time. Here are some pictures that I have from the party. Enjoy!

First Week Of Teaching Is Over!

I had my first week of student teaching and it went so fast. I have 17 students that are in the 1-4 grades. They sure keep me on my feet. The classroom teacher had me start teaching math to the 2nd graders right from the first day that I was there. I taught to with her lesson plan but this coming week I will be teaching with mine. I love me student but I most say there are ones that are trying my patience. This past week it rained everyday so the kids were a little crazy and they couldn't be outside so that was hard on us teachers. Getting use to being in school from 8 to 4 0r 5 have been hard for me. I have been going to bed at 9 just because I am so tried and I know that school the next day will be long and hard. One of my favorite things to do was grade papers but now I hate it. If only I had to grade each paper one time it wouldn't be bad but after the 5 or 6 times it gets a little old. After this week of student teaching I most say that I really enjoy my job and I'm going to love teaching as my career. I will keep you all posted at I go through these 9 weeks of teaching. As of right now I have only had to write 5 lesson plans but this next week I have to write 15 lesson plans so my life is pretty much me just writing lesson plans. By the end of these 9 weeks I will be so fast writing them. Keep me in your prays because I am really busy with teaching and also for God to give me patience for my students that like to push me.

This last Saturday night Stacy, Krysta, Jeaneen and I went to a Bull Riding Show. It was so much fun. It was held right here at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln. It was fun being able to hang out with my cousins and Jeaneen we don't get to do that many things together so it was nice.

I have been so busy I haven't had time to post sorry about that. My family was in town this last weekend for parents weekend. I had a really fun time cooking for them and hanging out playing games. I wish they could of stayed longer. I wanted to post the pictures we took this weekend. For those who don't know who Jeaneen is. She is my roommate. She will be graduating in December with a degree in Elementary Education. We work together and have all the same classes together also. She is really fun to have as a roommate. We had a lot of fun taking pictures together. On Saturday we went to the sunken gardens and took some family pictures as well. This is very hard to do with my family. Shannon is always making some kind of funny face and Stacie hates taking pictures so it hard to get a good one of all of us. But it was still really fun. The weather was great so it was nice to be outside.
School is going good this week is a slower week for me with homework but starting next week I will be teaching Math to first graders and Bible to three and fourth graders so it will be really busy. I start student teaching in three weeks so that will be a big change for me. I can't wait! Well that's all for now. I hope all is well with you all.

Another week gone...

I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by. Before I know it I will be student teaching. I'm glad they are going by fast because I live for sabbath. If I didn't have that one day to rest I'm not sure what I would do. This past week was full of me doing homework and working nothing to exciting. On Monday I am having eye surgery so I'm a little scared about that but I need to have it done. For those who don't know I have something in my eye that needs to be taken out. I really don't understand what it is or why it is there but I guess that is just part of getting old. So just think of me and pray for me Monday around 1:30.
This coming weekend is parents weekend so my family is coming to see me march so I'm excited about that. I have something to look forward to this week. Well I better get back to the homework.

What a crazy week!

This week has been one busy week for me. On Tuesday I got back from seeing Shelli in Orlando which was so much fun. I was suppose to leave on Monday night but my flight was changed so I got to spend an extra night with Shelli and then got to see Justin too because he was gone for the weekend. On Tuesday I missed my two morning classes which I wasn't very happy about but that's the way it goes. So Tuesday morning I woke up with something in my eye and couldn't get it out so throughout the day my eye starting hurting really bad so I ended up leaving my afternoon class to go see the eye doctor to get it fixed but he told me that I will need to have eye surgery to get it out so this next week I will be doing that.

On Wednesday morning before class at 8:30 I got my stitches out of my face. Almost two weeks ago I got two moles removed from my face so this week I had to get the stitches removed. You can't even see the cuts which I'm very grateful.

Many of you probably don't know but I started a new job in August for a company called Cedars they take care of children that have been abused, neglected or homeless achieve safety and stability. I mostly work with the childcare program. I love my job this past week I was a preschool teacher and loved it! My job is to fill in when someone is sick or needs the day off. It's sometime hard because I'm at a different place every day and my hours change some which makes it hard for me to get to know the children and other staff but this week was a good week just because I got to stay in one place for two days and get to know the kids.

For as school I only had one class this week. This next week I will be busy too because I have projects due in all three of my classes and then the next week I will be teaching again.

One thing that is great about having a crazy week is that it goes by fast and you have Sabbath to relax on.
